Are you sure Linux is a good idea? I use Linux myself and it is not meant for games. Even if you install apps to help support playing games meant for windows, its performance will not be as good. Now ofc im talking about playing games, not hosting a server but the same concept should apply.

Its recommended to use Linux for servers cause windows uses a lot of resources not needed for the server. Linux is open source and uses less resources unlike windows. And its easier to set up a server on Linux.
Perfermance shouldn't be an issue since we played last night, I felt really no difference in gameplay.
Also, You really don't need windows if your just going to run dedicated servers all day, unless you start playing on the same PC as the servers.

As for Linux over windows, Linux is way superior compared to windows when hosting a server.
